Voltage Security, Inc. Privacy Policy

Overview

This Privacy Policy describes how Voltage Security, Inc. ("Voltage") treats information that it collects and receives related to your use of Voltage's hosted email encryption service (the "Service"). To utilize the Service, you must create an account. Setting up an account requires you to provide your telephone number, credit card information, email addresses authorized under the account, contact and billing information, and a password (together these are your "Account Information"). Please keep this information current by updating your Account Information through the Service. This information is necessary for us to identify authorized users and to communicate with you regarding aspects of the Service. Our primary goal in collecting information is to provide and improve our products and services

Information Voltage Collects and Uses

In addition to Account Information, Voltage collects Message Data and Traffic Data. "Traffic Data" is information about the nature of your usage of the Service and can include: IP addresses of users requesting keys, Zero Download Messenger ("ZDM") recipient email addresses, date/time stamp and type of web browser. "Message Data" includes the non-encrypted Subject of messages sent and received by ZDM using the Service.
Important: Voltage has no access to the encrypted body of any messages and does not permanently store the encrypted body of messages when decrypted by the ZDM for recipients. All encrypted information is entirely under the control of the sender and the recipients.

Information Sharing and Disclosure

The websites you access to input or change Account Information have security measures in place to help prevent the loss, misuse, and alteration of the information under our control. When you access your Account Information, we use a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) that encrypts all information you input before it is sent to us. All of the customer data we collect is similarly protected against unauthorized access.

Except as described in the next paragraph, Voltage will not share your Account Information with third parties unless you have consented to the disclosure or Voltage believes the disclosure is necessary to (1) comply with the law or with legal process, (2) protect and defend our rights and property, (3) protect our customers or users, including from misuse or unauthorized use of the Service, or (4) protect the safety or property of our employees, customers, users or others

Voltage may disclose or transfer your Account Information (1) to its corporate affiliates (for example its subsidiaries or parent corporation), (2) to its service providers (like fulfillment, hosting or payment services), but only for their use to provide services to Voltage, or (3) to an acquirer in connection with the sale of the business or assets of Voltage. Voltage will require its corporate affiliates and service providers that receive Account Information to limit their use and disclosure of your information to the purposes for which you provided it. Voltage may collect and provide to third parties Message Data and Traffic Data and aggregated statistics about our customers, sales, usage patterns, and related information that do not include personally identifying information.

We may use the e-mail addresses listed in your Account Information to send to those addresses communications about the Service and Voltage offers you may find useful.

Cookies

When you visit Voltage's website or use the Service, we may send cookies to your computer that uniquely identify your browser. We use cookies to improve the quality of our service by storing user preferences and tracking usage information. Most browsers allow you to disable cookies or set your browser to alert you when cookies are being sent to your computer. If you disable cookies, you may not be able to utilize certain Voltage products and services.

Security

Voltage limits access to Account Information to Voltage personnel who need to come into contact with that information to provide products or services to you or in order to do their jobs. We have physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect the loss, misuse, and alteration of the Account Information under our control. Account Information we collect is stored in a secure manner that is only accessible only by authorized Voltage personnel and is only disclosed under the provisions of this Privacy Policy.

Children's Personal Information

The Voltage website complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA"). Voltage does not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under the age of 13 through the Service. In addition, in the event that a user identifies himself or herself as a child under the age of 13 within the Service, Voltage will not collect, store or use any personal information of such user. Further, in the event that Voltage receives personal information that Voltage discovers was provided by a child under the age of 13, Voltage will promptly delete such personal information in a secure manner.

As a convenience to you, we may provide links to third-party web sites from within the Service. Voltage is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of these third-party sites.

Access/Removal of Your Personal Information

If you want us to remove your Account Information from our database, or would like to access the information that was collected from you, please contact us using the contact information provided below.

Modifications of Privacy Policy

Voltage reserves the right, at our discretion, to change, update or modify this Privacy Policy at any time by posting such change, update or modification on the Voltage website and/or websites used to access the Service. Any such change, update or modification will be effective immediately upon posting on the Voltage website. Please check this policy periodically for changes. Your continued use of the Voltage website and/or any Voltage products and services following the posting of changes will mean you accept those changes. Use of information that we gather is subject to the Privacy Policy in effect at the time of use.
